History
Since Diabetes Research & Wellness Foundation’s inception in the UK in 1998 we have remained committed to supporting people living with all types of diabetes and those that care for them with our Diabetes Wellness Event Programme. From our humble beginnings holding local educational days in community halls and hospitals, the events soon grew to include our regional Diabetes Wellness Days, residential weekends, walking and activity holidays and healthy cooking days. Recent years have seen the events grow further to include our, in person and virtual Diabetes Wellness Type 1 Family Camps. In 2018 our work was recognised by colleagues across the diabetes industry with a national Sanofi ‘Quality in Care Award’ in Empowering People with Diabetes.
It’s been a remarkable journey and along the way we have forged great memories, made amazing friends, worked with the very best experts in the world of diabetes and changed lives. Now we are in our 26th year, we are looking ahead with great excitement to the next chapter and taking things to another level where we can support even more people living with diabetes.
We hope you’ll join us at our next United Through Diabetes event. We would love to see you there.
