Following on from the success of last year’s first Diabetes Wellness Day Midlands, we are delighted to be returning this October to support people living diabetes across the central region of the country.

Join DRWF and the specialist diabetes teams from Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust, South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust this autumn for the Quality in Care Diabetes award winning second annual Diabetes Wellness Day Midlands on Sunday, 7th October.

The Diabetes Wellness Day Midlands will bring together a wealth of information under one roof for people living with all forms of Diabetes. Family members, friends and carers and those with an interest in diabetes are also encouraged to take part. The day will provide you with the tools, knowledge and practical skills needed to improve life with diabetes and the keys to healthier living.

Each year we work together with our NHS colleagues to provide a programme that focuses on the many key areas that affect people living with diabetes. This year’s programme will be announced soon and once again the talks we choose will run as satellite sessions and be repeated throughout the day, giving everyone the chance to take part in the sessions that interest them the most.

The vibrant exhibition room will form the hub of the day, giving you the opportunity and flexibility to spend as much time as you like visiting the stands and chatting with a variety of experts and healthcare professionals who will be on hand to offer advice on diet, health, lifestyle and the latest blood-glucose meters and diabetes related products and services.

As well as the programme of talks, you will be able to take part in other activities, such as exercise taster classes, cookery demonstrations, research updates and the chance to learn more about how to use social media to enhance your diabetes self-management and how to become part of the wider online diabetes community.

The wonderful four-star Chesford Grange hotel on the banks of the River Avon is the perfect setting for this unique event, with its historic charm and contemporary style, great hospitality and excellent transport links. Its central location between Warwick, Stratford-upon-Avon, Birmingham and Coventry make it easily accessible to people from across the Midlands region. Within minutes of the M40 and M69, more than 250 free parking spaces, Shakespeare’s historic Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick Castle only a stones-throw away, nearby bus and train stations and no weekend city centre traffic to contend with, we couldn’t be in a better place.

DRWF is able to subsidise the cost of attendance as part of the charity’s annual educational event programme. We ask for a registration fee of £5 per person, to help with the costs of running the event. The registration fee includes the full programme of talks and activities, access to the exhibition hall, all-day refreshments, lunch and free parking.
