Diabetes Wellness Morning 2024
We're back for a morning of diabetes information, support and community. Come along and join us for a coffee, discussion and lunch.
About the event
Managing and living with diabetes can be a challenge. Join us at the National Museum of the Royal Navy - Hartlepool for our Diabetes Wellness Morning and learn more about managing your diabetes in the company of like-minded people.
Once again DRWF will be working closely with the Hartlepool Diabetes Support Group and the Specialist Diabetes Team from North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust to provide a morning of information, support and friendship to help you manage and improve your diabetes in conjunction with World Diabetes Day.
Our amazing volunteer Hayley Hakansson from the Hartlepool Diabetes Support Group and Diabetes Specialist Nurses Julie and Pam from the University Hospital of Hartlepool will be on hand to answer your questions and host a morning of information for you.
What can I expect at a the meeting?
Tea and coffee will be served on arrival.
The diabetes specialist team will take questions in a Q&A hour.
We will also have a talks on other topics such as testing and managing blood-glucose levels, sensors, meters and technology, a healthy diet for diabetes and good food choices, looking after your feet and eyes and other key topics. We will announce these closer to the date.
A hearty lunch of baked jacket potatoes and a choice of fillings will be served before finishing the meeting.

Registration is only £6 per person to attend and includes unlimited tea and coffee, a hearty lunch, delegate bag and free parking.

Other Diabetes Wellness Days
In 2024 we are also returning to Warwickshire to hold our national United Through Diabetes event again, which will be based at Chesford Grange in Kenilworth on Saturday, 21st September. This one-stop-shop of everything diabetes will have something for people living with all types of diabetes from across whole country and we would welcome anyone from the North East to join us.
