Edinburgh Half Marathon – Sunday 25th 2025

The Edinburgh Half Marathon is among the fastest half marathon routes in the world. The flat course has a descent of almost 90 metres and is perfect for beginners or experienced runners looking for a new personal best. 

Body Fast & flat, the Edinburgh Half Marathon follows the marathon course which was voted the fastest marathon in the UK by Runners World, ideal if it’s your first half marathon or you are looking for a PB. The Edinburgh Half Marathon has sold out every year since 2012 and is one of the largest half marathons in the UK. 

The route takes you from Potterrow next to Edinburgh University, through the historic city centre, past iconic landmarks including Greyfriars Bobby, Edinburgh Castle and Princes Street Gardens. You'll run east along the coast past the oldest golf course in the world and be greeted by cheering crowds at the finish line in Musselburgh. 

You must be at least 18 years old to take part in the Edinburgh Half Marathon.
