Diabetes Professional Care returns with first face-to-face diabetes conference in two years
Event for healthcare professionals working in diabetes will be held at Olympia London from 10th to 11th November.
The return of the first face-to-face diabetes conference and exhibition for healthcare professionals in two years is creating a huge buzz as registration opens for UK’s leading event for healthcare professionals working in diabetes care.
Excitement is mounting, with healthcare professionals now able to register to attend. The major two-day event at Olympia London on 10th and 11th November – an unmissable opportunity to network, share experiences and discuss best practice at the first major “in person” diabetes event in 24 months.
Diabetes Professional Care is the must attend event for professionals working in the diabetes healthcare community, presenting an unrivalled opportunity to gain real-world learning from top practitioners and develop knowledge – all under one roof and with the objective of improving care and making a real difference to the lives of people living with diabetes and related conditions.
The national conference, which has a reputation for providing accessible education to healthcare professionals and has attracted thousands of visitors over the past seven years, is free to attend, CPD (continuing professional development) certified and open to any healthcare professional involved in the prevention, treatment and management of diabetes and its related conditions.
After the event moved online in 2020 due to Covid-19 restrictions, it returns this year to Olympia London, with a focus on Rebooting Diabetes Care after the pandemic.
A key focus will be delivering opportunities for healthcare professionals to look back on and review the last two years, and crucially, to look ahead to see how people living with diabetes and its related conditions can best be supported.
As one of the groups most affected by Covid-19, people living with diabetes have suffered from reduced access to the support and care that they need to live with their condition on a daily basis, which makes this year’s Diabetes Professional Care event even more important and relevant for the healthcare professionals responsible for caring for them.
The 2021 programme will deliver education and clinical skills training designed for all levels of experience and specialisms.
Highlights include world-class speakers, panel discussions, and practical workshops covering topics ranging from mental health training for consultations to insulin safety and prescribing skills training.
The latest diabetes products and services will be showcased as part of the conference’s interactive exhibition.
Maggie Meer, founder of Diabetes Professional Care, said: “Last year we adapted to the challenges posed by the pandemic and were proud to offer an online event that was well-attended by healthcare professionals determined to continue their professional development.
“We are, however, looking forward to the buzz that we all experience at DPC each year, and seeing the diabetes healthcare community in person again. The conversations that practitioners can have at “in person” events are invaluable, and the networking opportunities help to develop best practice to directly benefit patient care. The hands-on workshops also give attendees the chance to discuss real-life scenarios and practical solutions.
“It’s so important that healthcare professionals have the opportunity to have these conversations and share best practice. We will be working closely with our committee of healthcare professionals and exhibition industry experts, and in line with government regulations and guidance, to ensure that all visitors, speakers and exhibitors can interact and benefit from DPC2021 in a safe and comfortable environment.
“We are encouraging healthcare professionals to sign up to a key date in the diabetes community’s calendar.”
Healthcare professionals from across the entire diabetes multidisciplinary team are invited to attend the free, CPD-accredited conference, which runs from 8.30am to 5.30pm on Wednesday, 10th and Thursday, 11th November.
DRWF are proud to partner the 2021 Diabetes Professional Care event as registration sponsor.
Last year DRWF partnered with the organisers of Diabetes Professional Care (DPC) to provide an innovative virtual conference, entitled United Through Diabetes and held on World Diabetes Day – 14th November 2020.
