Packaging for January issue of DRWF monthly newsletter is 100% compostable.
Diabetes Wellness News readers will have found the delivery of their January newsletter wrapped in biodegradable packaging made from potato starch. DRWF decided to make the change from polythene packaging in line with feedback received from readers and a commitment to using environmentally friendly materials. The new packaging is made from biopolymers, consisting mainly of potato and maize starch, and is 100% compostable. The bag can be disposed of in any household composting system, garden or food waste bin - and should not be put in your general waste bin. Potato starch packaging usually comes from waste potatoes, so you do not need to grow a crop to make it, and contains no oil-based materials, plastics or harmful toxins.
