We all need help managing our diabetes and we would love you to join us!

The DRWF Diabetes Wellness Day in the Midlands is fast approaching – with the first in-person event in three years scheduled for Saturday, 24th September.

The educational event takes place at Chesford Grange, Kenilworth in Warwickshire and places are still available. You can book your place here.

Living with all forms of diabetes can be a daily challenge.

DRWF Diabetes Wellness Days provide a relaxed, informal setting where you can learn about the many aspects of managing your diabetes. Family members, friends and carers are encouraged to attend

The programme for the day has now been confirmed and among the speakers on the day is an introduction to the history of landmark breakthroughs in diabetes treatments by Dr Mayank Patel, Consultant in Diabetes at University Hospital Southampton, and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Southampton, who is also a DRWF Editorial Advisory Board member. Dr Patel will be taking us on ‘The Fantastic Journey’ in which we will take an historic look back at the history of insulin, the different types of diabetes tablets, insulin delivery devices and major advances in diabetes management since Banting and Best delivered the first insulin injection to Leonard Thompson 100 years ago. Dr Patel will take us through the decades right up to present day and then a look forward to what treatments are likely to come next and into the future.

Please book by Wednesday 21st September. For more information contact Lee Calladine by email here
