Animated video from AMRC on the vital role charities play in advancing medical research from AMRC on the vital role charities play in advancing medical research.

A new animated film has been created by AMRC (Association of Medical Research Charities) to highlight the important role of charities in making research happen in the UK.

DRWF is a member of the AMRC, a membership body representing the leading medical and health research charities who deliver high-quality research that saves and improves lives.

Working with member charities and partners, AMRC aims to support voluntary sector effectiveness and advance medical research by developing best practice, providing information and guidance, improving public dialogue about research and science, and influencing government.

AMRC partnered with the National Institute for Health Research, UK Research and Innovation, the Medical Research Council, the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry and the BioIndustry Association to produce the animation.

Carol Bewick, Director of Membership Engagement and Communications at AMRC, said: “We know there is limited understanding outside of the medical research world about the vital roles the charity, industry and public sectors play to ensure the UK remains an international research powerhouse. “To address this, AMRC has been working with public and industry partners to create a short animation that explains how, together, the three sectors help make research happen in the UK.

It brings to life the different ways we all help research ideas to flourish into solutions that save and improve lives.”

The video was previewed at an All-Party Parliamentary Group on Medical Research reception in Parliament on 14th March.

An AMRC statement added: “Many of us wouldn't be here today without research. It’s constantly shaping and improving our health and social care. But do you know who funds and supports research in the UK?”

Watch the film to find out how the charity, public and industry sectors #MakeResearchHappen.
