Quality in Care Diabetes Awards programme 2025 opens for entries.

The annual Quality in Care (QiC) Diabetes Awards programme is now in its 15th year of recognising the work of healthcare professionals and innovative practice in the care of people living with diabetes and their families and carers.

Award winners will demonstrate quality in diabetes management, education and services – and this year’s categories are now open for nominations.

The QiC Diabetes 2025 Awards presentation will take place as a live event on Thursday, 6th November at Sanofi’s UK offices in Reading.

Debbie Tuesley, Events Director at QiC Diabetes, said: “A Quality in Care award means an initiative has been recognised by the NHS, patients and industry as improving the quality of life for people living with diabetes.

“The judging criteria and entry format have been reviewed and updated to clearly reflect the essential criteria that the judges will be looking for: innovation, equality, diversity and variation, results, user feedback, and dissemination and sustainability.

“The judges are looking for innovation in diabetes care. It is a fantastic opportunity to learn as well as reward but     think and state how your entry is different to what others are doing and what your measures of success are. Consideration will also be given to how your adaptions, changes or transformation can be translated into a sustainable, transferable intervention.

“We can’t wait to see you all again this year as a judge, entrant, participant or winner.”

There are eight entry categories across three nomination categories.

Karen Palmer, Head of Medical General Medicines UK&IE (Interim) at Sanofi, said: “I’m proud of our support for the 2025 QiC Programme. This initiative exemplifies the NHS’s core value of commitment to quality care. By recognising and rewarding innovations that benefit people living with diabetes, the QiC Programme is driving meaningful improvements in healthcare. It serves as a platform for sharing best practices and novel solutions to daily challenges faced by both healthcare professionals and individuals impacted by diabetes. The QiC Programme truly embodies the NHS’s dedication to excellence in patient care.”

DRWF are proud to support the QiC Diabetes Awards.
