Insulin Safety Week is held this week to reduce insulin errors within the healthcare profession.

This week sees the return of the second annual Insulin Safety Week from 1st to 7th July.

The week is centred around the theme “safe use of diabetes technology” with focus on efforts to diminish insulin errors within the healthcare profession.

Following the first event last year, the campaign is returning with heightened emphasis and innovation in 2024.

A statement from event partners the UK Diabetes Inpatient Forum and the Diabetes Technology Network UK said: “The campaign’s primary objective remains the same: to raise awareness of insulin safety within the healthcare community.

“In 2024, with an expanded focus on the safe use of diabetes technology, the campaign seeks to address not only insulin administration but also the broader spectrum of advancements in diabetes care.”

Upon registration, participants will receive a comprehensive resource pack, comprising printed materials such as posters and t-shirts to animate their campaigns. Additionally, an online resource pack will be available, offering graphics, templates, and guidelines to facilitate a unified and impactful approach.
